Indian Student Dies in Germany Fire on New Year

In heartbreaking Breaking News, a 25-year-old Indian student from Telangana lost his life in a fire accident in Germany on New Year’s Day. The student, Hruthik Reddy, was trying to escape a rapidly spreading fire and thick smoke when he jumped from an upper floor of his apartment building in Berlin. He suffered serious head injuries and later died in hospital.

What should have been a joyful start to the new year turned into deep sorrow for his family, friends, and the wider community back home in India.

Tragic Escape Attempt Turns Fatal

According to initial reports, a severe fire broke out late Wednesday night at the apartment where Hruthik was staying. As smoke filled the building and flames spread quickly, Hruthik tried to save his life by jumping from a higher floor.

Witnesses and officials said the smoke was very dense, making it hard to breathe or see clearly. In panic and fear, Hruthik made the desperate decision to jump. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors could not save him. He passed away while undergoing treatment due to serious head injuries.

German authorities have confirmed that the incident happened during the early hours of New Year’s Day. Investigations are still ongoing to determine what caused the fire.

Family in Telangana Left Heartbroken

Hruthik’s death has left his family in Malkapur village, located in Telangana’s Jangaon district, in deep shock. His parents had been eagerly waiting for his return to India for the Sankranti festival, which is usually celebrated with happiness and family gatherings.

Instead of welcoming their son home, the family is now preparing to receive his body for final rites. Neighbours and relatives have described the atmosphere in the village as one of complete sadness and disbelief.

Hruthik was known as a hardworking and ambitious young man who dreamed of building a better future through education. His sudden death has deeply affected not only his family but also the entire local community.

Bright Academic Journey Cut Short

Hruthik Reddy moved to Germany in June 2023 to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Europe in Magdeburg. Before going abroad, he completed his engineering studies at Vaagdevi College of Engineering, graduating in 2022.

He had decided to delay visiting India during the Dasara festival, planning instead to come home in the second week of January for Sankranti. Sadly, that long-awaited trip will now never happen.

Friends described Hruthik as focused, polite, and full of hope about his future. His professors and classmates in Germany have also expressed shock and sorrow over his sudden passing.

Authorities and Embassy Step In

Local police and fire officials in Germany have launched a full investigation to find out how the fire started and whether safety measures were in place. So far, officials have not released detailed findings.

Meanwhile, Hruthik’s family has contacted the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Indian Embassy in Germany for help. They are requesting fast support to complete legal procedures and bring Hruthik’s mortal remains back to India as soon as possible.

Indian officials have assured the family that all possible assistance will be provided. Embassy staff are reportedly coordinating closely with German authorities to speed up the process.

As investigations continue, Hruthik Reddy’s story stands as a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. What began as a hopeful journey for education ended in a heartbreaking loss that will be remembered long after the New Year celebrations fade.
